CHINESE TEXTS

On this page you can expect within the next months a series of Chinese texts that are concerned with various aspects of Chinese religions. Starting with the famous debate between Ji Kang and Xiang Xiu on immortality important Daoist texts will follow soon (all Chinese texts are BIG-5 encoded).

The reason for so doing is to try to convince the public that allowing only limited access to electronically available Chinese texts - as is current practice of some Chinese, Japanese as well as European universities - is rather unwise. A very good example of giving free access to Chinese texts and concordances is provided by Fabrizio Pregadio (Ca' Foscari University of Venice) on his WWW homepage.(internet-link: "http://helios.unive.it/~pregadio/jindan")
